The Sunday Barbell Sessions return for 2017.
If any of your goals for 2017 include getting stronger and more efficient with your Olympic lifting, then these are the classes for you.
Jules Dempsey is a proven NZ Olympic Weightlifting Coach. Throughout his 7 years of coaching, he has coached athletes from Beginner through to International level. In recent years Jules has coached at multiple Oceania events and at the (2014) Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He is currently a coach for the NZ High-Performance team. Jules is renowned and highly regarded for his Coaching of Olympic lifting and knows the techniques inside and out. His credentials are a credit to not only his knowledge, and commitment, but also his ability to apply programs that allow athletes to enjoy the sport for many years.
Ruth Anderson Horrell has competed in the 69kg weight class for multiple years holding national titles and competing internationally for NZ in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit. Ruth trains in the NZ High-Performance Team and is currently pushing towards the Commonwealth Games in 2018. Last year Ruth received a triplet of bronze medals in the 69kg class at the Oceania and Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea. Ruth has been coaching for five years and has a passion for helping others develop confidence with lifting, and focuses on consistent technique, before using loads to improve her athletes.
Together Jules and Ruth will be providing these sessions to anyone who is interested in learning the basics of Olympic lifting, developing their strength and power for other sports, or furthering their development from the training they have done previously.
Each session will run for two hours and is $10 for non-members and FREE for CFWS members.
