CFWS week in review – 050819

After putting the snow behind us, the week turned out bloody good.

After a shaky start to the week with a bit of snow forcing us to adjust the Monday sessions a little, the week kicked on and we were able to enjoy yet another fantastic week of training.
Some noticeable progress on our Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics this week, with all coaches mentioning it at our weekly catch up. There is another opportunity to progress this skill in the week ahead so let’s keep on trucking Crew.

Nelson has a date with the surgeon on Thursday to get the old ticker replumbed so we will all be thinking of him and his support crew of Ruth, Mike, Ruby and Hike. All the best with the surgery and recovery team.

This week at CFWS – Monday 5th August, 2019

“If you quit now…

You’ll end up right back where you first began.

And when you first began, you were desperate to be where you are RIGHT NOW.

Happy Monday Crew, you snow that we have a great week of training ahead at CFWS.

Catch up with the Crew – Tuesday 6th August, 2019

After a couple of weeks under her belt in the main classes, we can safely say that things are getting serious between Elaine and CFWS now. So much so that it is time to introduce her to the rest of our community that hasn’t had the chance to meet and work out with her yet.

As always, the best way to get to know Elaine a bit more is to take some time to chat next time you see her at the box, perhaps get her to tell you the story about that time she swore she couldn’t do Double Unders and then did one after a quick tutorial from Stacy.

Name: Elaine Sully

Life Level (Age): 37

Job: Trainee psychologist and programme facilitator.

The Youth at CFWS – Wednesday 7th August, 2019

Our Youth Programs are inspired through the very best knowledge and resources that the world has to offer, but more importantly, they are specific to Youth training and ALWAYS at the forefront of that is “What is best for the kids”.

Consistency of Movement for Youth

At our Wild South Youth programs, our passion is to create a better future for our youth. This future not only involves teaching our youth to move through life with freedom and fearlessness but to challenge themselves well beyond the confines of the gym.

Successfully doing this relies on our ability to teach them the movement patterns correctly and consistently provide corrective feedback so that good movement patterns are achieved and maintained over time. It also involves training these movement patterns and developing habits that will provide our youth with the resources to arrive at movement solutions for all of the challenges they will face in their lifetimes.

Our strength is our Community – Thursday 8th August, 2019

“I can do things that you cannot. You can do things that I cannot. Together we can do great things”

 – Mother Teresa

We are all amazing individuals and together as a community of like-minded people is where our magic happens.

Friday Fuel – Friday 9th August, 2019

We had a lot of yummy recipes presented for the 19.3 challenge so for the next few Fridays, we will share them with you.

Perhaps you can add them into your food prep for the week?

CrossFit UnCut – 2019 Clang ‘N’ Bang

It’s great to have some people looking into testing their fitness at this event.
If you are considering this event as the place for you to do that, catch up with your primary coach to discuss the best division for you.
Generally, this event is programmed heavy and with a good amount of volume so bouncing a few ideas with your coach is something that we would strongly recommend, and also just to check-in exactly where you are at.
With enough interest in this event, we will aim to make a coach available to attend with you.
