Catch up with the Crew – Tuesday 3rd September, 2019

After 4 years of being one of our goto judges/organisers at our Community events the Southern Crusade, we must now bid Meredith farewell (well not really bye bye, but off on a new adventure) as she moves (with her work) to Te Anau.

Not being much of a fan of making a big song and dance about things, we were able to get a card to her with your good wishes and thoughts.

Meredith intends to drop in from time to time so you will be able to catch up with how her new adventures are tracking in the big smoke of Te Anau.

Name: Meredith Ryan

Nickname: Mette

Life Level (Age): 33

Job: Engineer.

When did you start with CFWS? : 2015.

Your Fundamentals experience? : I scared Hailey off as she left right after taking me through my fundamentals.

Your CrossFit experience to date? : CrossFit has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself. An awesome community where I’ve made some amazing lifelong friends and an atmosphere that has gotten me through some pretty tough times. Lots of challenges which I didn’t always get a choice in attempting but the positivity is one of a kind!!!.

Life outside of CFWS? : Since I’ve just moved to Te Anau… I’m still figuring out what to do with myself.

Any movements you particularly like? : Things with Barbells.

What movements are you paying particular attention too? : Sleeping.

Anything coming up on your to-do list? : Sleeping.

If you had a warning label for yourself, what would it say? : My sense of humour is mean but I’m actually really nice…

What is one of your most weird quirks? : I don’t think they’re weird…

What do you think the most unpleasant sounding word is to you? : Rope climb.

If you joined the circus, what would your act be? : Stage manager.

What makes you laugh more than it really should? : Stacy’s Memes.

Do you prefer to swim in pools or the ocean? : Neither, swimming is the devil.

Have you ever met someone famous? : Yes. I met Martin Freeman at the pub in Te Anau. He wasn’t dressed like a hobbit and he didn’t have a towel..

What is the first thing that you do when you wake up? : Wonder if my dog has peed inside.

Have you read any good books lately? : Yes – The Woman in the Window. For once I didn’t pick the twist at the end and it was all a bit bizarre.

What makes you angrier than it really should? : Tomato. It contaminates everything it touches.

What life lesson have you had to learn the hard way? : That it’s OK to look after #1.
