I think we need to pick more fruit

I, like many others, can be guilty of overcomplicating things.

Often it is really just a form of procrastination, something to kill a bit more time so we don’t actually have to start on the journey towards a particular task, goal or target.

For me, if I am honest with myself, it is probably a case of trying to get everything perfect in the hope that I will have every possible scenario planned for and several contingencies at the ready should something actually happen to throw me off course.

But rarely does an external “force” ever throw us off course, it is almost always ourselves.

We should pick fruit…(stay with me here)…

I will concede that a bit of planning and thought does need to go into setting goals or targets when we embark on any journey, but we shouldn’t be making it so difficult that we actually forget to start.

Take the My Fuelled Life program here at CFWS, we have a fantastic opportunity to work 1 on 1 with our Primary Coach on making some changes to our nutrition.

But what do we want to change?

Pick on the easy or more obvious stuff, the low hanging fruit, the things that will give you the most bang for your buck over the shortest amount of time.

Right from day 1, do we really need to be counting every gram of Protein, Carbs and Fat that go into our body or do we actually just need to remember to have a plan of what food we need to eat and when? While it will in all likelihood benefit you in some way to be super accurate with your macros, chances are that just having a plan for what you will eat will achieve a win for you.

Or, you may even be one of these super busy people that never take time for breakfast?

The whole getting ready for work, kids off to school, or simply training in the mornings can see you park the breakfast thing as a non-priority event.

So rather than trying to cook a gourmet style breakfast every day and flagging it because it is too time-consuming and just going without, how about simply making the time to prioritise it and actually just eat breakfast?

Let’s all just pick more fruit and enjoy the wins sooner.
